Hair Cleansing Heaven
So I went to the beauty supple store with my sister, not planning to buy any products, but while browsing decided to pick up a few things anyway. The shampoo I have been using is “Burt’s Bees Grapefruit & Sugarbeet” shampoo. I was really in love with this shampoo for quite some time, because it cleaned my hair. After some time I felt like it was drying my hair out, so i used less but my hair never really got clean that way. In the beauty supply I found a shampoo “Creme of Nature: Sulfate-Free Moisture & Shine Shampoo with Argan Oil” for $5, not “cheap” but much better than $9 Burt’s Bees, so I figured I could give it a try.
Let me tell you Tumblr, this stuff is heaven in a bottle, the best shampoo I have ever used!!! I usually procrastinate on posts, but I had to inform someone else on my discovery. It felt just like I was conditioning my hair, but I could also feel it cleaning my hair of buildup. My hair was smooth after the wash, not like that rigid strippy feeling I get with other shampoos. I was so pleased. I am too excited for my next wash day. lol.

I was going through some photos & came upon the photo i took the day after my BC & omg my hair was short… lol… i mean i still consider it short now but i had no idea it was THAT short… lol… i guess i was just caught up in being newly natural & im kinda glad I was… but i cant say i was 100% happy… that first photo always kills me… i look so scared… lol… but i warmed up soon & my hair has just kept growing ever since… im so proud… lol (ps: the photos were taken between may’11-feb’12)

Can I Touch It??
So today I had someone actually ask to touch my hair… & it was great… It was my professor… which would seem weird but… she is one of my favs & is soooo down to earth… I also appreciated the fact that she asked… since out of the 5 ppl who have touched my hair… 4 without asking… (2 being close friends so i dont mind… but the other being two STRANGERS)… she is the only one who asked… & i said yes… cuz im passive aggressive… lol… but hey i didnt really mind…
One of my friends who is Irish thought it was hilarious & came up to me later mockingly saying “Can I touch your hair??”… mimicking ChescaLeigh’s “Sh*t White Girls Say… To Black Girls” video… & I couldnt help but crack up… I hadnt known she’d seen the vid… but im glad she did… Im glad someone understood the moment with me…

I did my nails & I absolutely hated them… lol… however… i put so much work into them that I kept them on… & the more I looked at it the more it grew on me I suppose… & it reminded me of something but i couldn’t remember what… i finally realized it reminded me of the Panic! at the Disco’s album “A Fever You Cant Sweat Out”… a CD ive never owned but clearly had archived in my memory… strange… lol

Winter Conditioning with “Shea Moisture: Deep Treatment Masque”
Being that its winter time, I decided I need a deep conditioner to keep my hair moisturized. I had heard good things about Shea Moisture & I was looking for a deep conditioner that doesn’t have protein or cholesterol in it, since I would be using it quite often. This conditioner is all natural & has many of the ingredients I would assume would benefit my hair.
The smell of the product is like…… old lady perfume lol, but it is tolerable. When I apply the product i never like how my hair feels. I feel like it opens my hair cuticles. When i run my fingers upward on a strand of hair, the hair does not slide easily though my fingers. HOWEVER, once i sit with a plastic cap on & let the conditioner set then rinse it out, my hair feels really nice. I wouldn’t say amazing, but it does feel really good. Maybe because it felt so bad upon application, but i doubt it… lol.
Perhaps the lifted cuticles help the product to penetrate the hair shaft better, or it it the PH of the product is too much of a base, maybe an apple cider vinegar rinse would help (i’ll try that next time). Either way, I’m glad I tried the product & I will definitely finish it, but I am still on the lookout for another deep conditioner.

Hey Relaxed Girlfriends
I am sorry for the lack of posts!
I should have updated you guys a long time ago. But it is actually winter break for college students. And because I am a homebody, I feel no need to over manipulate my hair.
Therefore, since the beginning of December I have just been bunning my hair! :-D It keeps me from manipulating my new growth and keeps my ends safe.
I am expecting to get a relaxer in about two weeks so I will have a 2012 picture for you ladies then. Hopefully I will see some really good progress.
As for my bunning? I’m just washing whenever it feels dirty using these products. Today I washed my hair and it felt lifeless and like it was going to die. So I used my chelating ors shampoo/conditioner and the ors hair mayonnaise to prepoo. Now my hair feels fine and back in its normal state. I have probably been abusing moisturizers.
Make Your Own Nailpolish!!
So… my dear sister who loves me very much made me nail polish for Christmas this year!!
She used clear nail polish along with eye shadow pigments to create her own franken-polishes… She even came up with cute names… from thumb to pinky they are:
Hello Yellow, Bleu in the Wind, Envy Me, Your Majesty, & Wine on Ice (my fav!!)
there is an e-how on how to make your own polish & a blog “Dr.Frankenpolish” about a lady who makes her own beautiful polishes by mixing other polishes & glitters… its an old blog… but you can still go and admire all of her creations lol… PS: I think may have found a new hobby!! =]

My MiniTwist Experience
So i put in minitwists the other day… as i posted earlier & i was a bit unsure about how i felt about them… but i tried to keep them in as long as i could… which wasnt very long… lol… however… i was in love with my mini twist out… they are like little sisterlocs (which i love) without the commitment… i decided unless i wanted locs for real i better separate the twists & when i did i loved my semi-undefined mini twist out fro too!!… there is just no going wrong with this style… if it wasnt for my need to wash my hair i would totally keep this going…
